Trees are crucial to every city’s infrastructure. Plantingtrees can improve air quality, save on energy costs, improveproperty values, reduce water pollution and lower water treatmentcosts as well as support local wildlife and the mental and physicalhealth of the people living within the community.
“We are excited to partner with DHL Supply Chain on such agreat project. The newly planted trees will add much needed shadeto a heavily used walking trail and will continue to make the Cityof Roanoke a greener, cleaner, cooler place to live,” said MattGrubisich, director of Operations.
The DHL Supply Chain’s effort in the greater Dallas-FortWorth, Texas, area is part of in addition to its 2019 tree plantingactivities in several metropolitan areas where it operatesthroughout the Americas. By the end of April, DHL Supply Chain, andits associates will have donated $50,000 to local tree plantingorganizations, providing nearly 9,000 trees in the region.Additional events are being planned for this fall. Besides theselocal efforts and as part of its goal to plant a million trees eachyear, Deutsche Post DHL Group will be donating 570,000 trees in theAmericas region through its global partnerships.
